I’m Sushamma, wife of Mr Gangadhar, a Parkinson’s patient for 18 years. I belonged to a family of Ayurveda doctors. So, of course I suffered the initial shock of my husband being diagnosed. But, I never lost hope.

As a child, I was hardly ever exposed to Allopathic medicines. My brother and father were both renowned Ayurvedic practitioners, and I’ve seen miraculous results right in front of my eyes. So, I reassuringly believed in Ayurveda and its wonders.

At the initial stage, he was given a Panchakarma treatment. It was an elaborate treatment for 2 months and was the base for his further treatments.

Then, one fine day, the unimaginable happened. We couldn’t differentiate his one emotion from the other, whether he was sad or happy, we wouldn’t know from his face. This was a horrific event in our lives; his masked face. This was the same condition Mohammad Ali had. I could understand what he was going through or feeling because I’m his wife. But, I missed seeing his smile. However, as we prolonged our journey with Ayurveda after a pause, I could see the stiffness of his face reduce from the very first day. By the end of it, he was smiling again, and we could see it! It is because of Ayurveda that I could come so far.
